Accessible Workshop creates cross for St Mary and St George Church

It was wonderful to see a beautiful cross, made by our Monday Accessible Workshop group, being installed in St Mary and St George Church in High Wycombe.

Last year, Talkback moved into buildings in the grounds of St Mary and St George Church. We now run sessions for our members there as well as a  Community Cafe, Chatea Cafe, which is open on a Tuesday serving hot drinks and cakes. Our members have also been working to create a nature trail in the grounds, for the local community.

It’s fair to say that we have definitely made ourselves at home and feel very lucky to have found such a welcoming place from which to operate. As such, it was lovely for our Monday Accessible Workshop Group to be involved in creating a beautiful wooden cross for the Church.

The cross is made from Oak, using a railway sleeper. The group has worked hard to cut, plane, sand and oil the cross to get it looking as good as possible. Our members were really pleased to see their cross being placed in the church. We hope that visitors to the Church will welcome this new addition.
