Autism Peer Support

Making Your Voice Heard

Autism Peer Support is a flexible, strengths-based service that supports you, as an adult with autism and/or a learning disability, to feel heard, valued and connected.

It offers safe and inclusive spaces where you can share experiences, build confidence and strengthen your sense of identity and belonging.

Why it matters

You may feel isolated or unsure where to find support, especially during diagnosis, life transitions or when trying to make social connections. Autism Peer Support creates welcoming spaces where you can express yourself freely, explore your strengths and develop the confidence to take part in everyday life.

Key Services

Peer support groups and shared experience
Facilitated peer groups bring you together with others in a safe, understanding environment where shared experiences reduce isolation and build confidence. By connecting with others who truly understand, you can develop self-esteem, feel validated and gain practical insight from lived experience.
Social connection and community participation
The service creates opportunities for you to engage in your local community, helping you build meaningful relationships and feel a sense of belonging. Through inclusive social activities and supported participation, you can gradually grow your confidence in everyday environments.
Creative sessions
Creative sessions provide a powerful way for you to express yourself, explore identity and celebrate your strengths. Through art, music, digital media and storytelling, you can communicate in ways that feel natural to you while developing new skills and confidence.
Co-production and lived experience influence
You are encouraged to actively shape services and contribute your voice to decision-making. By drawing on your lived experience, you can help influence local services and environments, ensuring they are more inclusive, accessible and reflective of real needs.
Family and carer support forums
In partnership with Coram Family Lives, we run dedicated forums that offer your family and carers a trusted space to connect, share experiences and learn from one another. These sessions support resilience, provide practical guidance and help build a stronger support network around you. For unpaid carers who care for a family member, friend or neighbour who resides within the city of Milton Keynes and has a learning disability or is neurodivergent.

What the service offers

Autism Peer Support brings you together with others through support, creative opportunities and inclusive social activities. You can share experiences, meet others who understand and take part in groups that build confidence and emotional wellbeing. Creative sessions in art, music, media and storytelling help you express yourself and celebrate your identity.

You can also help shape services and improve public spaces, ensuring autistic voices are heard and understood. Your family and carers can join supportive forums to share experiences, learn from others and build resilience. All activities are shaped by lived experience.
