Thanks to funding from Thames Valley Police Community Fund, over the last couple of years we have been able to create innovative training videos, aimed at autistic people or those with learning disabilities, which help explain what to do if they find themselves a victim of crime.

The theatre group were definitely up for the challenge of creating our next film, which deals with modern slavery.

Our colleague, Nicola, wrote the script and began working with members to audition for the roles. All the while, helping everyone to gain a better understanding of what modern slavery is.

Over the course of five months, they practiced their lines and facial expressions with the help of Tim, the drama therapist. Staff worked diligently to ensure that all members were well prepared, with lines memorised and props and costumes organised.

Lights, Camera, Action!

With everyone ready, filming took place over three days in May. One staff member took on the lead role as Jackson, the bad man, alongside Ellen who has joined us as the detective. Another staff member operated the boom (sound) for the entire duration of the filming.

Our team have worked hard to ensure that the film project runs smoothly, and all members are enjoying the process of making another film.
