Supported Internships

Providing work placements for students aged 18-24 who have an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP)

Our supported internship programme lasts for one year and mirrors the academic year. It begins in September and includes off-the-job skills development activities. The work placement begins in the second half-term. The program requires a commitment of three days a week, and starts at 9am and finishes at 4pm each day.

How do we pick the work placements?

We have existing partnerships with a wide range of organisations across the Thames Valley, Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes. And we regularly approach new potential employers to reflect the aspirations of our members. Crucially, our programme is designed to find you a placement that matches your hopes for longer-term employment. And our skills development work is focused on helping you develop the skills and independence for that role, or a similar one.The expectation is that you can, and will, progress to full employment.

How do you apply?

If you have already experienced the world of work through your careers provision in secondary school or post-16 education and have a strong motivation to work, then our programme is for you. To join the programme, you also need to meet the following criteria:
