A year of big wins, new skills, and proud moments at Talkback

Today, we are sharing our review of the year for our Personal Development and Skills Programme. And what a year it has been.

From building bookshelves and performing pantos to running cafés and tackling modern slavery through theatre – 2024/25 was a year to remember.

Our members didn’t just attend sessions. They took centre stage, gained confidence, built friendships, found their voice, and developed skills that last a lifetime.

In our Annual Review of our Personal Development and Skills Programme, we celebrate the creativity, commitment and achievements of everyone involved in the programme.

You’ll discover how we’ve used employment training, sport, media, creative arts, and hands-on projects to open doors and build brighter futures.

This year’s highlights include:

Building Little Libraries

Members helped design, build and paint wooden library boxes now placed across Bucks – building real-world skills and confidence.

Creating films and live theatre

From scriptwriting to performance, our groups explored powerful topics like modern slavery and shared their voices on stage and screen.

Sports and inclusive fitness

Our sports programme grew bigger than ever, helping members boost wellbeing, improve coordination and feel part of a team.

Running our own ChaTea Café

Members learned to take orders, handle money and deliver brilliant customer service – gaining valuable experience in a real café setting.
