To highlight some of the brilliant volunteers who work with us, and the different volunteering opportunities we have at Talkback, we have produced a short video, which will be published tomorrow. Every day this week, we have been sharing snippets of this video to showcase some of our wonderful volunteers.
Today, we would like to celebrate Jay, who currently volunteers for us working with our Social Group. In this video, Simon Steed,Your Voice Engagement Manager, talks about working with Jay, whilst Jay explains how volunteering with Talkback is helping him gain experience for his future career:
Thank you to Jay, for giving up his time to volunteer with us. We are so pleased that the skills you are developing, will help you in your goal of becoming a police officer.
We currently have 13 active volunteers in our Volunteer Team, and between them they contribute a huge 88 hours a week to the work we do. In support of Volunteers’ Week, we want to thank all our volunteers, as well as all the other people helping in their local communities.
Did you know that volunteering offers a multitude of benefits? Not just for the communities and causes being served but also for the individuals who volunteer.
Here are two key benefits:
Networking Opportunities
Volunteering can create networking opportunities and open doors to new career paths or job opportunities. It allows individuals to connect with professionals in their field of interest, gain references or recommendations, and expand their professional network.
Personal Fulfilment
Ultimately, volunteering can bring a sense of personal fulfilment and satisfaction by allowing individuals to give back to their communities, support causes they care about, and make a positive difference in the world.
We would not be able to do the work we do, without our wonderful volunteers. We are always looking for people to join our team. To find out more contact us here.
