These sessions have been made possible thanks to Frieth CC who kindly let us use their ground and facilities and Samina Mehrab of Bucks Cricket who provided her expertise and fun style of coaching. We’d also like to say a big thank you to Bucks Badgers whose funding meant we could transport our members to the venue.
Our last visit, on a stunning September day, was made even more special with an added visit to the Walled Garden at the Lady Ryder Memorial Garden. Here we got to see the work that our own Outdoor Opportunities group do there.
It has been an incredibly successful sports programme. We discovered that the positive effects of being in a rural setting can be every bit as important as the benefits of playing a team game.
The comments from our cricket team summed it up perfectly:
“It’s beautiful there. I love going, it’s so relaxing” Jenny
“It’s really relaxing, I like batting best and getting the runs in” Elizabeth
“That was brilliant. I loved that. Looking forward to next year” Cliff
“These sessions have really been a great opportunity for the group to access something that they just wouldn’t be able to do otherwise.” David Haylor, Talkback Staff member.
