“On hearing the Autumn Statement yesterday, I was initially very angry but decided to sleep on it before reacting publicly. Unfortunately, I’ve woken up even angrier.
“Does the Government understand the charity, care, and vulnerable adults’ sector at all?
“Of course, it goes without saying, that staff deserve good pay but given the government has reduced investment by billions and then increased the minimum wage (which costs them nothing) where are we supposed to magic the money, needed, from?
“This decision will see the end of organisations across the country that are providing lifelines to people who are sinking and, let’s be honest, have been underinvested in year after year.
“Is there one MP who will stand up for the charity and care sector? Anyone?!”
