To highlight some of the wonderful volunteers who work with us, and the different volunteering opportunities we have at Talkback, we have produced a short video, which will be published on Friday. Every day this week, we will be sharing snippets of this video to showcase some of our wonderful volunteers.
Today, we would like to celebrate Stuart and Connor, who currently volunteer for us working with our members at The Accessible Workshop.
Here they talk about why they choose to volunteer:
Thank you to Stuart and Connor, for giving up your time to volunteer with us.
We currently have 13 active volunteers in our Volunteer Team, and between them they contribute a huge 88 hours a week to the work we do. In support of Volunteers’ Week, we want to thank all our volunteers, as well as all the other people helping in their local communities.
Did you know that volunteering offers a multitude of benefits? Not just for the communities and causes being served but also for the individuals who volunteer.
Here are two key benefits:
Improved Well-being
Volunteering has been linked to improved mental and physical well-being. Engaging in volunteer activities can boost mood, reduce stress levels, and increase overall happiness and satisfaction with life.
Social Connections
Volunteering provides opportunities to meet new people, build relationships, and expand social networks. It can help individuals connect with like-minded individuals, form friendships, and develop a sense of belonging within their community.
We would not be able to do the work we do, without our wonderful volunteers. We are always looking for people to join our team. To find out more contact us here.
