Volunteers’ Week Day 1 – Celebrating Mark

This week, Monday 2nd-6th June, is Volunteers’ Week. Here at Talkback, a lot of our work depends on the wonderful volunteers who support us.

We currently have 13 active volunteers in our Volunteer Team, and between them they contribute a huge 88 hours a week to the work we do. In support of Volunteers’ Week, we want to thank all our volunteers, as well as all the other people helping in their local communities.

To highlight some of the wonderful volunteers who work with us, and the different volunteering opportunities we have at Talkback, we have produced a short video, which will be published on Friday.

Every day this week, to celebrate Volunteers Week, we will be sharing snippets of this video to showcase some of our wonderful volunteers. To get this week started, we would like to introduce Mark, who currently volunteers for us, working with our members at the Lady Ryder Memorial Garden. Here he explains why he chooses to volunteer:

Thank you Mark, for giving up your time to volunteer with us.

Did you know that volunteering offers a multitude of benefits? Not just for the communities and causes being served but also for the individuals who volunteer.

Here are two of the key benefits:

Sense of Purpose

Volunteering can provide a sense of purpose and fulfilment. It allows you to contribute to something meaningful and make a positive impact on others’ lives or the community.

Personal Growth

Volunteering offers opportunities for personal growth and development. It helps to build new skills, gain experience, and broaden your perspective by exposing you to new challenges and situations.

We would not be able to do the work we do, without our wonderful volunteers.  We are always looking for people to join our team. To find out more contact us here.
