Pippa commissioned the workshop to make her a set of planters. And she was keen to learn more about what we do. So, we happily invited her to visit the workshop for a woodworking lesson.
On Monday, Pippa spent the morning with us at our High Wycombe workshop trying out some of our equipment. Connor, our trainee, walked her through how to use the drill and then she gave it a go herself.
In an Instagram post about her visit, Pippa commented: “I enjoyed being taught by Connor how to use a drill and band saw safely as we worked on making a bug hotel together. It was also wonderful to be able to see for the first time, and collect, two planters that I commissioned them to make for me. I’m so happy that personal funds went to such a good cause and what a fabulous result!
“Today I saw Talkback’s ethos and purpose in action, that of making the lives of autistic individuals and those with learning difficulties better because they deserve it. Thank you to Luke, Alan, Connor, Kyle, Finlay, Jacqui and Neil for an instructive and important morning.”
Our Accessible workshop manager, Alan and the members were delighted to show Pippa around. She got to see the different projects and the incredible work our members of The Accessible Workshop do.
