As the winter months take hold food resources for the wildlife in Howe Park wood become scarcer and scarcer. With this in mind, Talkback members and students from MK College came together in January to search for birds as part of the RSPB Big Birdwatch and to create biodegradable citrus bird feeders for our hungry avian friends.

The group had a lovely time walking through Howe park and using their binoculars to search for wildlife.

Although we spotted magpies, great tits, robins and more, it was much harder to capture a photo of them. Our member Harry did manage to capture this grey squirrel looking for his lunch though!

Once back at the centre, we continued our search completing the RSPB form about the different birds we saw.

We then had a great time, making our own biodegradable, citrus bird feeders. These will help to support the birds, which is especially important at this time of year
