Badminton – A Game Changing Success

Another Talkback gold medal success for our members with Badminton.

Our Progression

We are so delighted to be in partnership with Wycombe Badminton Club. Participating in sessions run by their fantastic coach, Alistair Jones, we have been thrilled to get back into the swing of it.

This summer, our groups have been welcomed back to face-to-face play. We have seen the excellent progress of Talkback members in just a few short weeks. So, what’s the key to this?

Our Partnership

The partnership with Wycombe Badminton Centre brings a professional coach which, added to our specialism in learning disability and autism, makes the sessions fully accessible. We aim to break down barriers when it comes to playing badminton and we are not restricted by the current rules of the game. Don’t be surprised to see equipment such as fluffy balls, big shuttlecocks and nets. This is all part of our games-based approach that is designed to be fun, build core skills and get everyone involved.

Our Achievements

Testament to their hours of practice and dedication, our members can return the shuttlecocks precisely. Members showcase a variety of shots, building match play skills which we develop into team games. We have seen extraordinary progress with this approach and with it comes the pure joy of achievement for our members. The outcomes are confidence, learning new skills, positivity and teamwork.

We’re looking forward to further badminton success stories for our amazing members.
