National Writing Day

Today, 23rd June, is National Writing Day. A day to encourage people of all ages and abilities to get writing. As a published author, Nicola, knows only too well the joy of writing. Here are her reasons on why it’s good to pick up a pen!

These days we do a lot more typing sat at our computers, but how many pick up a pen and piece of paper to write things down?

There are many different things you can do that involve writing. Creative writing,
helping your mental health, organising and planning, plus a lot more. Writing is not
just about completing a novel, it could be writing a diary, a to do list or shopping list,
writing a letter to a friend or relative you have not seen or spoken to in a while.

Writing is a good way of expressing who we are. Clearing our minds from negative
thoughts or trying to remember everything we need to do. Keeping in contact with
people and giving the contact a personal touch.

Whatever the reason for writing, try it. It is a great way to clear your mind and feel
like a weight has been lifted off your shoulders, especially after a bad day.
