Taxis

How to take a taxi

1. Phone a taxi company (or book via their websites/apps):
  • Tell them where you want to go and what time you need to arrive.
  • Agree where you want to be picked up and at what time.
  • Find out how much the journey will cost.
  • If the price sounds too much check with another company.
  • Ask if they will accept payment by cash or card.
2. Be ready for the taxi when it arrives:
  • Make sure you have money or your payment card with you.
  • Also take a phone with you if you can.
  • If possible, have the address you are travelling to on your phone or on paper so, if needed, you can show it to the taxi driver.
  • Let your safe person know where you’re going, and when to expect you back.
3. Get into the taxi:
  • Check that the taxi driver has the right address for where you are travelling to.
  • Wear a seat belt during the journey.
4. When you arrive:
  • Pay the driver.
